In 2004, Paul Bacon spent five months in the frozen reaches of Mongolia working as a volunteer journalist. During that period he wrote about politics, street children and some of the country's flagrant human rights abuses. He also partied with the country's most famous rock band and played football in the national championships. This is the story of his time in one of the world's most interesting but little known countries.
