Butterflies are a symbol of change. When Ryan and Felix met all those years ago, a butterfly is what changed their lives. They would talk for hours in the forest by a little pool with little animals and rocks, but what they talked about the most were butterflies. Ryan would listen to Felix ramble on about all of these facts. They were the best of friends for a long time. But then Felix moved away, back to Sweden, and the two didn't see each other for eight years.
Among the years that they were apart, Ryan was sent to live with his aunt in Florida, away from his step-mom, because she is incapable of taking care of him. He didn't want to think about Felix anymore. If something is meant for you, it will come back, so maybe Felix isn't meant for Ryan.
So why does that blond Swede show up as a transfer student at Ryan's school?
