Livi is the son of a poor farmer and a suspected witch who lives a hoodlum life style of taking what he wants and questioning magical authority. When his father becomes terribly ill with something seemingly magical, he has no choice but to attempt the most treasonous act of breaking into the palace of Arumnia. Once there he asks the Oracle how to save his father, but rather than a cure he receives a prophesy.

Now, he must quest to find a fated object from the generations old war against magic before someone else does, lest a new war erupt under the Reign and conspiracy of Queen Merron.

She will stop at nothing to have this object and won't allow her husband King Octavius IV to defer the line of succession away from her only son.

Now everyone's out for royal blood, and the riches promised by Queen Merona for capturing her latest scapegoat. No one knows who he is yet, but a bounty sits firmly on his head and time is running out as the queen's plot to assassinate the king draws nearer.

if Livi is to discover his identity and save his father, he must find the only surviving heirloom of the Arumnias royal family. The Lost Crown.

After hiding her skills for fifteen years, Hua Zhi thought she could live a peaceful life as a proper daughter of a prestigious family. However, when the Hua family's fortune began to decline, she had to reveal her true abilities to support the crumbling household. It became common for her to step forward and take charge, to gallop on horseback, and even to carry a coffin with her siblings to face desperate situations. Her reputation as someone not to be crossed spread throughout the city of Beijing. She was prepared for the possibility of her family turning against her, and she was prepared to grow old alone. What she didn't expect was for someone to don armor and pledge a lifetime to her before heading off to battle! It was quite rare for someone to dare marry her in this world!
