Not As It Seems
Once upon a time, Xadia was a unified land, filled with wonder and magic. At the dawn of time, there were six primary sources of magic, the sun, moon, stars, earth, sky and ocean. But a thousand years ago, a magician from a human tribe discovered a new power, the seventh source, black magic. It uses the essence of all magical creatures to awaken the forces of evil. Terrified by this sight, dragons and elves decided to put an end to the madness. Human mages, however, did not want to give up, and stood up to fight against the elves and dragons. The human mages using unimaginable black magic began to win. But then on the side of the elves and dragons stood the Flenimu, born from the union of human and elf. But before the day of the last coming of winter, people exterminated Grom, and then without a shadow of mercy destroyed his only egg, his successor, the dragon prince. A Startouch Elf had fallen in love with an Unnamed Moon Archdragon and they had a child, a half Startouch Elf and half Dragon daughter. But thanks to the actions of Aaravos, they had to hide their child, using a stasis spell to keep their daughter alive so that at least one of them could get her and they leave a necklace with her name on the back of it Astraea. But due to the actions of Aaravos, the parents were killed in the crossfire and the stasis spell lasted for centuries until it finally wore off and the Skymage Ibis found her, taking her to the Stormspire, where she was taken in by the Royal Family to be a new member of the Dragonguard to protect and advise the Dragon Prince when the time comes for him to become the next Dragon King. But Viren's attack changes everything and the next thing that Astraea knew she was trapped in a cage in the Dark Mage's hidden room and the citizens of Xadia believe she and the Dragon Prince are dead and she believes she will never see her homeland again. The Dragon Prince - Book 1: Cold War
In this alternative storyline, set two years after the events in the show, best friends Callum and Rayla decide to continue working together to stop a war that has already been set in motion. Rayla has discovered a mysterious relative named Zalmai in the sunfire kingdom who may hold the secret to her parents disappearance. Rayla convinces Callum to join her because Zalmai is also a world renown Sunfire sage and could teach the young mage new magical abilities. In this story, Virin was never able to escape his prison in Katolis and has slowly gone mad by Aaravos' cruel whispers. As for Rayla and Callum, well... they were never quite able to figure out their relationship in Season 3 and so they stayed friends and let the angst build for two agonizing years!
