Dealing with the loss of her father, Usami travels to Death City with her mother Sakura, and Weapon partner Miyuki to attend the famous Death Weapon Meister Academy and hone her skills to become the great meister her father always dreamed of. There she meets Lord Death's son, Kid, a meister far more powerful than her. An unlikely romance blossoms between the two while evil lurks in the shadows to unleash a dark madness into the world.
