"If you must play, decide upon three things at the start: the rules of the game, the stakes, and the quitting time." - Chinese Proverb A story where we follow the "popular rich bitch" after the "socially awkward nerd" (you know her, you love her, you ship her with the bad boy in every teen fiction book you've ever read) steals her boyfriend. Get ready to learn what happens when the high school cliché is told by the girl you've come to think of as the enemy. Just a day before the start of her senior year Skylar's long term boyfriend Griffin reveals that he's fallen in love with the girl Sky had always underestimated. In hindsight she should have seen this coming all along but she was too self involved to try to stop the inevitable. In the midst of an emergency girl's night Skylar strikes up a drunken bet with her best friends. Will Sky make it an entire school year without guys or will a new guy in her life cause her to risk it all? © 2015 All rights reserved Credit to @salvatorii for the beautiful cover

In the day-to-day trenches of high school, it is almost the default-setting to believe we are the main character of our own coming-of-age story. This is not wrong. It's just ours isn't the only story there is. The jocks, the nerds, the cheerleaders, the losers, the stoners, the fangirls, the skaters. Everyone's the realest most important person in existence, all of them, at the same time, first-person narrators to their own stories, stumbling into each other's plot lines, defying the status-quo, catalysts to ups and downs. A deconstruction of all the high school tropes and cliches written over the years, a deep-dive into the psyche of students trying to finish high school while going through irrevocable self-discovery, the most improbable of connections, and the insufferable pains of growing up.
