The Tether : Tale of a Restless Soul
Amanda Fulwood has always felt out of place. Since she can remember, she was never capable of distinguishing the real from the fake, her mind constantly questioning whether she lived what she remembered or if it was just an outstanding dream. There's always this voice in her head, this coldness so sudden whenever she comes back to it. As bone-chilling as the air in a morgue, the feeling never fails to keep her up at night. It only got worse over the years, her visions turning more and more vivid, constantly wandering further away from this realm every time. Living in a small town has its perks, especially when you're the mayor's daughter, but it also comes with a handful of disadvantages. Her reputation as the local nut-job precedes her, and when she's found naked on the school football field, it only furthers their assumptions. Once caged and once freed, Amanda still struggles with the reality she is to face, one where just maybe, she really is insane. Or maybe, her mind is the keeper of something darker, sinister even. For the small town of Milton Oaks, crime is a non existent hassle. So when Amanda's memories seem to correlate with the events of the darkest nights in town history, she's left with a mystery on her hands. One that holds all the explanations she craved, for all the years plagued by those thoughts. But going down that route is a path of no return. Once Pandora's box has been opened, there's no closing it back. Among all the questions Amanda has, the only one that is hers to answer is, "Can she handle it?" Read the book and find out😉

PART 1 The year starts off bad enough, that is, with earthquakes and snowstorms. And finally, when things starts to clear up, the first murder occurs. Right in front of their eyes. It seemed obvious who did it, but as the murderer wrote her confession, a completely different murder occurs across town. Shocked, the police rush over to gather the evidence and clues, but before they even assemble their evidence, the police are led to another death. One by one, deaths occur around town, faster than the police can count. There's not much in common with all of the murders, only the fact that all of the victims come from one class. In the course on one year, the class of 18 shrinks drastically. PART 2 As summer vacation begins, the remains of the class split. Five students tell their stories of meeting new people, near death experiences, and funny incidences. PART 3 More than what meets the eye happened in the course of the summer. The class comes back to a new year, utterly shocked to find that 4 new students have joined their class. Everything starts out alright, but people are getting frantic. "Guys, I got another note," I say as I sit down at lunch. Vanessa and Xander were here but Hazel was missing. "Where's Hazel?" I question, eyeing her empty seat. "Out with Adam today, it's Friday," Xander says whilst I munch on my sandwich. "Did you say you got another note?" He asks and I hold my finger up and try to swallow my food as quickly I can so I can speak again. "Yeah, this one says, 'You look so beautiful in blue, I wish I could say this in person,' I really want to know who's playing this prank," I say and my eyes fall to the only prankster in Waterstone Academy, Sebastein. "I don't think it is Sebastien, he loves attention and this doesn't scream attention," Vanessa says as my eyes land on him. But my eyes move from Sebastien quickly to the hottest man in Waterstone, Vincent. He has been bugging me for a week, trying to talk to me and he even asked me to come to Logan's party on the weekend. My eyes must have been drilling holes into his face because he turns in my directions. I quickly turn back to Xander and Vanessa who were talking about their Art projects. "Okay, so if not Sebastien then who?" I voice my thoughts out loud. "Maybe you have a secret admirer," Xander says in all seriousness and I burst out laughing. My laugh attracts some attention because 1) it was loud, 2) I snorted. "Yeah right," I say once I sober up. *** A secret admirer. Everyone wishes they had one but not Amara.
