Princess Nerissa's parents want her to be lady like like a princess should be, but Nerissa has different plans. She loves nothing more than doing boyish things.. She especially loves the sea. Her parents don't let her out of the castle walls, so the young princess sneaks down to the beach whenever she can. 
She decides to go down to the beach where she is kidnapped by pirates for a ransom, which leads too her learning many things about her life that her parents had never told her...
