Naruto has really gone into a spiral. Things weren't the same anymore. He chased Sasuke ever since he left the village. He's now 18 and finally talked to him. But it didn't go the way he wanted it to. He still couldn't bring him back. Even after having a heart to heart with him. Until he did bring him back, with stipulations of course. This is when he lost control.
When he realized they were friends, until they weren't anymore. Things changed. Faster then he could keep track of. This story shows the side of Naruto that everyone assumed wasn't existent. Until Sasuke showed them.
