Scarlet Helders returns to Sheffield after years of traveling abroad, studying literature and writing a few successful books through a mentorship. She is excited to return home to her brother and his band, but things are different when she gets back. The biggest difference is in Alex, her old childhood crush; no longer considered 'adorable', he had changed into a stranger following a harsh breakup he experienced two years before. Her old friend is a little too arrogant, his hair newly short, his style vastly different. Worst of all, he doesn't seem to care that she is back. Never the matter, since she swore off the childhood crush years before.
