This Time
My feet met the cold pavement beneath me as we ran endlessly, like pirates in hunt for gold. Only this time, we were the treasures and they're the chasers.
"Run pretty lady! RUN JUST LIKE WHAT HE DID"
We fought many battles. We shed many blood, and still the enemy kept up with us. It is only when we had our time, our few inhales, that we realize we are alive.
I can evidently feel the roll of sweat on the side of my face, as much as I clearly see the blood dribbling out of your wounds.
"GOT 'YA. YOU CAN'T RUN AWAY JUST LIKE THAT MY PRINCESS."
My breath was cut short, as claws impaled my already limp body. Dragging me as life was draining out of me. Bloody traces in the snow, how valentine-y is that?
Poof. You were gone.
It was almost the same scene. Only this time, I am the one dying, the one impaled, the one lifeless and you wore the face I had last time you breathe.
You had been gone for so long, too long. Still, I am thankful 'cause you appeared again. You cuddle with me in the snow, beneath the shadows of the trees. Though my blood is pooling beneath us, I am happy. So happy, that we are together now just like when we were alive.
Only this time, we're not.
