Especially at night after my nightmares. The nightmares are roughly the same, the experiment that turned my dad into a big green monster but instead he doesn't survive the blast. What a lot of people don't know is that I was actually in the lab with him. I watched as he tested the machines to make sure there were no accidents or causalities. Everything seemed to be fine, until it wasn't. The machine malfunctioned and the gamma rays went out of control. Not only did my dad get hit but so did I. The effects weren't exactly the same obviously but they did the same job of giving the victims unnatural abilities. On my run I started to think more about the accident as tears streamed down my face and my feet started to feel like they were on fire since my body wanted to just give out and sulk. My mother chose to leave me, my father tried to leave me. What is it about me that repels people? A young blonde boy wakes up in the middle of the forest. He can't remember how he got there or much about himself either. His name is blank from his mind, and he can't even remember his family. His clothes are torn and dirty, and he wonders what happened. He's not hungry, but he wants a small snack, yet every apple tree and every berry bush he passes doesn't strike his fancy. He eventually makes it to a city. Large buildings are fallen over and the ones still standing have busted out windows and/or have smoke and fire coming from them. He can hear distant screams and yells and gunshots. There are people passing him that are strange. They're badly injured and walk slightly hunched over. Some are missing limbs, and some are missing and eye, or both. They don't even appear to be alive to the boy. They look his way but don't mind him. Tommy is confused and scared. He can slightly remember this place to be his once home, and it makes him upset that's it's gone to such shit, and scared by everyone's screams and the fires and the fighting, and mostly, the fact that some people are eating each other. But the creator promises the demon's voice will disappear as soon as he finds the right girl, the right bond. Tommy had just recently moved homes. The one he left was one full of memories. Not good ones, but not necessarily bad ones, either. He didn't have much to live for at his old home, so he moved in hope of starting over and meeting new people. He had no more family, and his school friends had long moved on from him. In fact, the only number in his contacts was his mum's who was long passed away. Tommy was young (sixteen, to be exact) and he often forgot things. Usually just as simple as forgetting to do the laundry, or forgetting to reply to a notification on his phone that he received three seconds prior. Simple things that didn't matter. This time, though, he forgot to charge his phone before leaving his new, barely furnished apartment. He didn't think much of it. If it died, it died. No biggie, right? He figured he'd be alright for an hour or so without his phone. That is, until he got lost in the large, unfamiliar town that he definitely didn't even slightly know the layout of. He didn't know where he was or how to get back to his apartment, especially without a GPS. And then, when it definitely couldn't get worse, it began to rain. Tommy was soaked. He was cold, hungry. He cut into an alley and sat down against a brick wall, curled up on himself. He sat there for a while, and then heard footsteps. It was three men. The older one crouched down in front of him. "You look awful...Come with us, mate." But Tommy didn't want to.
