A book about a band from the strip, slowly rising to fame while accidentally dragging Jackie Turner up with them.

She waited for something. Anything that told her not to go. Not to run from her problems again, but this time her subconscious seemed to be on her side, despite everything else going against her.

"You weren't made for this life, Jackie. And that's okay, but I'm telling you right now to run the fuck away. Run as far as you possibly can and don't look back."

She became a nomad and wandered around the small towns in the quiet corners of the United States. She'd run until she could finally find a spot that would fill the hole in her heart. The hole only she was to blame for.

Sydney didn't have much, but that was fine with her. She didn't need much. Growing up on the Washington coast in a lonely beach town, working quietly behind the scenes was what she was good at. Living on the beach was much less glamorous than most people imagine. Her home was a beat up old Winnebago that she had shared with her father until he passed. Her father had been a detached parent. He loved his daughter of course, but he was by no means an affectionate man. She had grown up fending for herself, working backstage at a bar that hosted live bands using a fake ID. After the death of her father she saw an ad for a guitar technician for a local Seattle band. A love of rock and roll had been the one thing that her and her dad had in common. Selling everything that she didn't need she packed up her pickup truck and travelled north to the city, leaving the sleepy town in her rear view mirror. She didn't expect to embark on what would become the adventure of a lifetime. For someone who had hardly left the town she grew up in, the opportunity to get paid to travel the country and listen to great music was a dream come true. The band became her family, and life on the road was a perfect fit for her. Chris Cornell instantly became Sydney's best friend in the whole world. They were in love, that was plain as day to anyone who paid attention. Yet, sometimes love isn't as simple as it should be. Sometimes, love hurts. Warning: This book covers potentially triggering subjects such as depression, suicidal ideation, domestic abuse, sexual assault, poverty and drug use. These are issues that many of us have faced and are very real. If you or a loved one is experiencing suicidal thoughts or abuse in a relationship, please reach out and find help. Guns n' roses +Motley Crue fanfiction but mostly a Duff McKagan fanfiction. Please do not skip because most parts go with the last one I wrote. It usually will be the next day but one of the chapters skip to a few days....I think...I don't really remember. Anyways, this is obvious : I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE BAND MEMBERS OR THERE MUSIC. I own my original characters like: Alison,
