'Zaratorio: The Story Continues' is a political parable dedicated in general to everyone who believes in #PeaceinUkraine and who says #NoToWar. More specifically, it is written in support of the brave and generous women and men of Medecins Sans Frontiers/Doctors Without Borders.
As the title implies, there are several other Zaratorio tales on Wattpad. The current story begins with Professor Amber Jessop seeking to escape from 'the far future' - at least a googol of solar years beyond the present day. More generally, 'Zaratorio: The Story Continues' was originally set in Kyiv in 2021 CE, at various other points in Ukrainian history as well as in 'the far future'. However, the organisation led by Jessop, the Slavic Institute for Studying the Paranormal, has recently relocated to "KyivTwo": a semi-holographic entity outside the usual rules of time and space.
I continue to support the medical charity, Médecins Sans Frontières, so you can copy and paste their donation page at the end of each part/chapter.
There is usually one episode every week, but the serial was seriously in 2024 due to family illness followed by a bereavement. I have kept it alive by adding some chapter headings that did not occur in the original versions.
Furthermore, I will try and add some very short chapters in 2025.
The text of this story is entirely my own composition. The various illustrations are generally based on photographs that are in the public domain or from what appear to be long neglected websites. If any reader believes that I have violated their copyright, please feel free to contact me, although - given that my purpose is philanthropic (to encourage donations to MSF) - I hope that you will feel charitable towards me. However, from episode 58 onwards, some of the illustrations have been and will be my own AI creations!

One of the chosen, she's dropped on a game reserve and hunted by predators. Large humanoid creatures, with super-human strength, agility, and fighting skills. Going off on her own, she's acosted by one of them, and he shows her mercy. She's attracted to the alpha in him, but his alien features frightens and intimidates her. Vata's a young Yautja, who's yet to be bloodied. Going on his first hunt, he meets Amara, there's a language barrier, but beauty's universally appreciated. He doesn't think her a worthy opponent, and leaves her unharmed. But the rival super predators, and the hunters from his clan, don't care that she's inferior in battle, she's fair game to them. Joining forces with her, and the other humans they go up against the predators in a fight for survival and a way off of the game reserve planet. Along the way, a bond develops and she starts to have mixed feelings about leaving the planet. If they succeed, she can't go with him to his home planet, and he can't stay on her's. Will she decide to stay on the game reserve, with Vata in a never-ending fight for survival. Or will she choose to go back to earth, and only have her memories of him? After an incurable sickness washes over the planet of xanadis, the majority of the female, young and elderly, and vulnerable population is all but wiped out, leaving a small portion of the male population to face the threat of extinction. With no choice but to look to the stars for a means to save their kind from complete annihilation, the xandisians set out to find a race compatible with their own. after many years and countless failed expeditions, they finally find a species that matches their base DNA on a planet called Earth. The only issue now is how humans will react. But we have managed to survive and persevere despite everything that has happened. The year 2147 was a year of hope for us, with the arrival of the Golik, an alien race, who were kind and wanted nothing more than to help us. Alongside the Golik, we had five years of peace and prosperity with them, both races gaining knowledge from the other and building to create a wonderful relationship with the other. After five years of peace and prosperity, then the peace ran out and the invasion began. Loosely based on the folklore of seductive water sprites, particularly the Vila (a Central European version of Rusalka). Written for @AfterDark's "Mirror, Mirror" contest (Mar 2020) -'Mysterious Ways'. A young woman wakes in the wrong version of her bedroom. Or is it so wrong after all? ('You wake in a strange place, possibly as someone else.') -'The Listeners'. Morial and her fellow Spirit Listeners work hard to maintain the balance between nature and mortals; until, one Summer, Morial is accused of upsetting that balance herself. ("I know what you did last summer". The prompt features as paragraph nine in my story.) -'Between the (Spread)Sheets'. An accountant and a trader play cat-and-mouse in a City firm. (@Crime's 'Deceptive Detective' Aug 2020: one criminal goes undercover to expose or be exposed by another.) -'The Unexpected Message'. A missed phone call proves momentous for a young art historian. (@AmbassadorsUK/@Fanatsy/@WattpadFairytales's 'Underground Tales' contest Nov 2020: pick a Tube station - King's Cross/Angel/Seven Sisters/Knightsbridge - and imagine what lies below which is connected with the name. I chose Angel.) The only real thing in this story is the Museum of London (which has an excellent Roman gallery, btw); any coincidence with real heritage experts - or indeed the unrealistic probability of such a find - is my fault. -'Cyclopean Arches'. Universal Warfare
Hi there, I'm JD, a 31-year-old Venezuelan-Spanish Economist living in Barcelona with my Russian (pro-peace) wife Anna and our two kittens; we met in Italy eight years ago, and almost since then we have been working on this project. During our careers we've worked with people from South America to Japan, from Australia to Canada, from South Africa to Norway, the characters in the novel are based on people I was lucky enough to meet along the way who left me with invaluable lessons which we feel the duty and privilege of sharing with our fellow humans, hopefully sharing what cosmologists call "Space Bias". There are seven main protagonists each one with their own chapter - which can be read in whichever order you prefer, - two of them in present tense and the rest in past, it's all part of the story. They all have mixed backgrounds such as a Japanese father and a Taiwanese mother, a survivor of the Rwanda massacre, a Colombian with Lebanese and Portuguese ancestry, a Danish whose mother is German, a Jewish lady married to a Muslim man she met in Jerusalem, an Anglo-Indian guy inspired in a way in Orwell - character name is Arthur such as Orwell's real name, - and last but definitely not least a Turkish Muslim bisexual woman for which a Lebanese friend for work is providing help; my friend is working on her Ph.D. on gender inequality in politics, especially in countries with religious civil wars that have moved from the streets to parliament. The story's Universe - 7 trillion light-years, approximately 78 times the size of our observable universe and 252 times the size of a Hubble sphere - provides more than enough civilizations to present dystopias that can serve as warnings for the future - ideally in the style of 1984, A Brave New World, or Fahrenheit 451, - as well as utopias where we find A.E.I - Artificial Emotional Intelligence - along with futuristic ways of understanding childhood, education, and life itself.Abgeschlossene Geschichte
