Stardew Valley. A region of the Ferngill Republic. It is within the valley that the small Pelican Town is located. It lies just a tad bit north of the Gem Sea. With yet a small population of only over 30 people, this rural area of the Republic rarely has any visitors, nor any outsiders for that matter. Despite its geological abundance of resources and rich history, it is often overlooked by larger towns and cities nearby. One such city is Zuzu City, which lies within the Calico Desert.

The Ferngill Republic is, regrettably, at war with the nearby Gotoro Empire. It went from an economic battle, to some skirmishes at the Gem Sea, to full on large-scale war. Because of that, the war effort that had been quite dormant skyrocketed and conscription went through the roof. One corporation that plays quite an important role in the war is the Joja Corporation. A megacorp that seems to cover shipping, warehousing, distribution, mining activities, emergency medical services, and energy drink production.

Joja Corporation is responsible for approximately 45% of the war efforts thanks to their wide range of amenities. The Joja Headquarters is in The Capitol City of the Ferngill Republic.

Pelican Town is not heavily affected by the war. Only one citizen was conscripted into the war. However, the life of all the people in that town was about to change - due to the arrival of a new farmer.

"I'd met my match with Sebastian. He was just as much of a loner as I was-maybe even more. We were the only two members of the anti-social social club. It met every Wednesday: under the covers of Sebastian's bed." Stella's memory of Stardew Valley isn't the greatest and she swore she'd never return. But when her father wants to sell her grandfather's farm, Stella reluctantly agrees to buy it off him, afraid that her memories of the valley will disappear altogether if she lets it slip away. As she returns to Pelican Town, the gaps in her memory start to revive as she meets new faces, and reunites with old ones. Her first friend is the extroverted, blue haired Emily, who becomes Stella's key insight into the lives of her neighbors in Stardew Valley. Her first crush is the easy-going, adorably clueless skateboarder, Sam, who she runs into on her very first full day in the valley. Sam is everything Stella is not, and maybe he's what she needs-someone to counteract her melancholic, reclusive personality. But when she meets his dark haired, moody and pessimistic friend Sebastian, who is the complete opposite of Sam, she becomes enthralled with him, wanting to crack through his tough exterior to see what lies beneath. Sebastian is everything she wants, but knows she doesn't need. She knows how he is, because she is the same way. He's like a carbon copy of herself and that only intrigues her more. She knows he's like poison, but the way he makes her feel becomes like an addiction.
