Smoke & Shivers

This book was originally a cry for help I wrote in one of the worst times of my life, but I took the time to rewrite it and make sure it sounded somewhat okay, I hope you enjoy this and remember there is always a way to overcome life's hardships. Love y'all. -Leo Black

Chapter II. (Snip-it)

I walked back inside and pulled out a cigarette, lighting it and immediately being transferred to that island of relief. The chemicals filling my body once again, I was in paradise. My mind at peace, everything was gone and then I let go of the breath causing everything to wash back over my island.

I stuck the cigarette in the ashtray and walked into the bathroom removing any trace of the chemicals from my mouth. As I spit out the toothpaste I caught myself tearing up. Is this really the only thing that makes me feel okay? Thinking about it when Firen is around I can't think about anything but him. All the stress, everything leaves when he enters my mind. But why would he be able to do this, how can he so easily make everything disappear with just his presence? Maybe my brother was right, I do need therapy.

This book contains adult themes, and mentions of suicide. There are also very intense scenes that may be trigger to some, and for those I will put a trigger warning at the very beginning of the chapter. Shadow is the equivalent of an Alexa or Google Home, I just didn't use the name to get copyrighted. Also please remember that I am in school so updates may be slow.
