Only a month has elapsed since the Lawrence Street Detective Club went back in time to rescue Sunny's daughter and stop a bad man, but the ripple effects of their changing history are beginning to make themselves known in this seventh novel of the series.

Sunny Parhar, still adjusting to having his sister back in his life, has made a secret habit of keeping an eye on the man who murdered her in the timeline they knew, but is now free and with a new family of his own. Little does he know that the man will soon get himself tangled in a new intrigue that has nothing to do with him, but everything to do with Joe DiTomaso; suddenly, bones are showing up on Joe's construction sites, and he has to rally his friends, and a few unlikely acquaintances, to help him get ahead of this crisis before the media attention tanks his business.

And Bishan Parhar, Sunny's sister, reeling from the discovery that she was dead in another timeline, travels with Rachel, Lauren, Tej and Joanie to a wellness centre in the Okanagan to investigate the circumstances leading to the arrest of Lauren's business partner for the murder of a man who, in another timeline, should still be in jail.

And if that isn't bad enough, an old friend of Rachel's returns to warn them that even more changes are coming to threaten everything they love.

Slice of (magic) Life by Azuriko_Kito
27 parts Complete
Axle has known magic his whole life. Not the kind of magic from stage acts and swindlers on the streets, the kind that was used in secret, under the cover of lies and facades. Magic that, when found out by regular non-magic civilians, will be mercilessly sought out and destroyed if they weren't able to use it for themselves. This was his father's warning. But even when kept a secret, danger lurks ever so closely and Axle had to find a way to stop it all on his own... Or did he? Elaine knew she wasn't the only one. She had this feeling that there were others in her high school that did what she could do: real magic. Just when she was mustering up the courage to ask someone else that she thought was like her, danger strikes her school. A danger that she felt was related to her magic. She knew she had to do something about it. Should she deal with the threat alone like she usually faced everything else in her life? Or will she finally confront her suspicions about a certain boy from her school that she was sure had magic like her? ------------------------------------------------------- Huuuge thank you to the user @rainhither for creating this beautiful cover. You're the best!! This is an original story by me. The characters from this work are part of a different, but same universe, original novel I am currently writing. However, the main story of this universe will not be published here (at least that's my decision for now.) since I plan to publish/self-publish that work. Thanks for reading all the way to the end and I hope you like it!

Will she ever forgive them for abandoning her? Will they ever be able to unveil her secrets? Where was she for all those years? This is story of a girl who was abandoned by her brothers when she was seven. Now, after 9 years, her brothers brought her back home. How will she deal with them, simultaneously dealing with the terrors that haunt her every night? Sneak Peak- Once we were out, I stopped and turned to face my blood relatives and said, "Okay, now that I am out you don't need to act anymore. Now, you guys can go back to your house and pretend that this never happened. I will go to my house and will make sure that we will not cross each other's path, even by accident." I was about to turn back when Ezekiel held my elbow, stopping me on my track. I immediately snatched my hand back glaring at him and said, "Do not ever touch me again." His eyes showed an emotion of hurt that I am sure I read incorrectly because one thing that Kensington brothers are incapable of was getting hurt by any outsider. And that was what I was. An outsider. Sensing the tension in the atmosphere Aldric took it upon himself to say whatever his brother was about to. "You are going with us." He spoke. One thing about Aldric Kensington was that once he has made his mind, there is nothing in this world that can change his decision. This is the very quality of his that made my life a living nightmare, and this is exactly why I hate him more than any of my brothers. "Let's go Athaliah," Ezekiel said this time. That name. No one has called me by that name in six years. "My name is Zahra," I corrected and continued, "And I am not going with you." #1 in pastabuse #1 in running on 2/2/25 #1 in babysister on 15/12/24 #1 in brothersconflict on 27/12/24 #2 in abandoned #2 in broken #2 in abusing #2 in nightterror #2 in brokenfamily #4 in olderbrother #5 in mafiaprincess #9 in siblings #34 in siblingrivalry #34 in littlesister #44 in ptsd #40 in misunderstood #59 in mafia
