Kaelyn McAndrew leads the “perfect” American teenager life. She has the best boyfriend, sister, and best friend a girl could ask for. By the age of 16, she has published three novels, one of which is nominated for the most prestigious and well-known award there is for authors across the world. But when her sister, Sadie, gets into a car accident, Kaelyn and her parents have to face a new reality: Sadie now has permanent Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), leaving her sister to have severe impaired speech, and no movement in her legs. With not enough income to support her family, Kaelyn is forced into getting an after school job at the local diner, where everybody eats at. Deep down, Kaelyn knows that the same Sadie in there. And she is not giving up. With the help of the some-what cute diner boy and her new neighbor, she can find Sadie. Through her journey, Kaelyn realizes there is more to life than what's on paper. She just has to find it.
