The Ayre sisters - the latest in a long line of deadly female mercenaries - are starting fresh in the city of Mercy and going down the straight and narrow. They're registered with the Mercenaries, have made nice with the Beast Clan, keep a good working relationship with the Dracyans - the ruling vampire clan, and have declared themselves legal residents with the Paranormal Legislative Council. They've even opened up their own detective and security agency.

There's a lot of adjusting, a lot of pride swallowing, and in Noraliya Ayre's case, a lot of dealings with an immortal, pig-headed and irritatingly possessive Seer. But they're willing to overlook these minor issues for the roof over their heads, a reasonably stable income, and easily accessible good coffee. After all, there isn't anything an Ayre cannot overcome or kill if they put their minds to it.

But one day, two terrifying minutes heralds deadly consequences and danger that threatens the stability of the new paranormal order and those who uphold it, and the Ayres find themselves fighting an unknown peril for the lives of those they hold dear - not to mention the lives of every other paranormal in the world.

Sebastian has always lived by the rules. As an official in the Central Zone of the City of Eternity, he processes vampires and werewolves who break the law, sending them to their deaths with reluctant efficiency. It's a job he despises but one that keeps order in the city. However, when food supplies fail to reach the supernatural zones, chaos begins to creep toward Central, threatening the fragile peace. Human leaders Aubrey and Alaric suspect revolutionists are to blame for the shortages and send Sebastian to investigate. Forced to leave the safety of Central, Sebastian is thrust into a deadly world he barely understands. Infiltrating the revolutionaries, he's given a chilling task: assassinate a powerful vampire in the Ruby District of the Eastern Zone. With the city on the verge of collapse, he must choose between his loyalty to his human leaders and the growing chaos threatening to consume everyone. Yet, his mission is complicated by a personal struggle-Sebastian's own family, his mother and brother, were turned into vampires during the first revolution that destroyed Barewood. His desire to protect them conflicts with his duty to uphold Central's rules. As tensions rise and the revolution deepens, Sebastian must navigate a path through treachery and violence, all while keeping his loved ones safe. In Blood & Honour, the fourth book in the City of Eternity series, Sebastian faces impossible choices as the city teeters on the brink of another uprising. Bound by his obligations to Central yet torn by his family's supernatural ties, he must decide whether to uphold the law or defy it-and whether duty is worth the price of blood.

Human Status by DanickaCastro
1 part Complete
I live in a world where I am nameless. I live in a world where I do not matter except or unless I am owned by someone. I do not have rights, freedoms, joys, wishes, or aspirations. I am property. I was born and raised to belong to someone that will one day take me away like the fairy tale stories that I listened to everyday in the house I live in. I prayed every night that a handsome prince would come and take me to live in his castle just like in the books. I prayed that I would be a princess and have a kingdom just like in the books. But I was never told that the books were all lies. I was never told the true reason why I was a well sought after commodity. I was never told that I am not the only one like me. When I found out it was too late to save myself. To think and in less than 4 days I will be taken away from my current home and be in a home of my own. I sat on the simple wooden bed hoping that my owner was nice and kind. I hated to think about some of the stories that I heard about the other girls like me. I hated thinking about being exterminated because I made my owner unhappy. I thought to myself that I would try real hard to keep him happy. I remember the covenant of rules that would keep me and my owner happy. I would need to follow five rules. 1. Always obey my owner. 2. Always be available to my owner. 3. Never talk back. 4. Always agree with my owner. 5. I am not human so I cannot do human things. I wondered how pretty human women were. I was so nervous about my departure I nearly refused to leave my room. I could leave if there wasn’t anything wrong with me physically. I remember the den mother telling me not to do anything that would cause a refund or else I would be exterminated upon refund. My new owner had thirty days to return me. If he returned me and no one else was interested I would be exterminated. I would be killed because it would be thought that I was defective and no one would want a defective product.
Repent: Gwyllomay of the Darkness (1.5) (MANUSCRIPT) by RyanCier
50 parts Complete Mature
When you're a 700-year old creature, attempting to fit in with the modern lifestyle may be a bit of a drag. Perhaps you'll make new friends, find a wonderful career, a nice place to settle down in, or manifest true love with someone. Maybe you'll be too stricken by the burden and weight of your ancient memories... but whatever the case, you'll soon come to find that even the humans themselves are very wayward. Things to be wary of, Reader: If some of the tags to this little tale didn't give it away already, there will be heavy amounts of grotesque violence with even heavier bouts of eroticism. Notes to also keep in mind, Each little 'season' or 'part' is divided up by seven chapters. All will look normal up until you reach the sixth and seventh chapters, whereby the title-text will be in a bold font. Also, perspectives of narration will change. If the chapter says 'Chapter' like normal, then you can expect Gwyllomay to be narrating it... as this is mostly his life, after all. Otherwise, if the chapter's title says 'Capitol' then this means that the POV is in the 'third-person's omniscient telling'. This is important, for the writer believes that it is not fun to tell a story without different points of view. As such, Gwyllomay's cannot be the entirety of this story. Alternative Synopsis: Formerly the king of all vampyres, Gwyllomay Polidori now simply wants to settle down for a modern and quaint life amongst the humans who once feared him. Gwyllomay must come to defend his mortal friends from the lesser likes of his kind whilst also fighting off vampyre-hunters who would wish him great peril. Soon enough, however, this dangerous charade of slice-of-life-on-action turns out to unravel itself into an even greater mystery.

I wiggled under my mate, trying to get out from under him. He growled and lowered himself on me so that I couldn't get out. He then shifted as I looked the other way. "Look at me", he growled. I just stared to the side. I suddenly felt large hands grab ahold of my snout. He pulled my face so that I'm looking at him. "Shift", he commanded. I didn't because I don't listen to orders. "I said shift", he demanded again. Again I just stayed there. He then got off me and went behind a tree. He came out with shorts on. "I.said.shift", he growled angrily. I shifted and started to yell at him. "Your not my alpha. I don't follow orders. If you want a submission mate then go to another girl. I didn't even want a mate nor did I want to be in a situation like this", I growled. "I am your alpha and I am your mate. You have to listen to me. I don't want no other girl besides you. You are my mate and your gonna deal with it", he growled back. "No, I could always reject your sorry ass", I scoffed. He didn't like this one bit. He growled and pinned me to a tree. "Your my mate and you better accept it", he growled softly before slamming his lips on me. All I could think is...... 'How did my life get so messed up?'
Warrior, Forbidden: Book Three of the Comhairle Chronicles by ALMcGurk

Mairsinn had served as the commander of the Taghadairean for longer than she cared to remember, part of the sisterhood responsible for protecting the halls of the gods and training with the battle-slain who dwelled in Tallamarbh. She also decided which candidates passed the trials or died attempting to gain recognition as Comhairle warriors. She wasn't sure how many bhampairean she'd killed because they chose to step into the Proving Grounds, underprepared. She only knew that she was weary of it, and sometimes she needed to escape. Unfortunately, chasing an illicit, temporary release from her duties left her vulnerable, and at least one bhampair had a bone to pick with her. When a ghaisgeach attacks her, knocking her out and dragging her to a grim dungeon where several bhampairean are being held, Mairsinn needs to figure out what her captors want from their prisoners. What connects the captives? Will her jailers want to keep her or sell her to the highest bidder? Can she find a way to escape? And if she does, will her place as commander still wait for her? Meanwhile, Aodh, second-in-command of the Comhairle-Chlaidheamhan, had been tasked with persuading an unwilling noble to help the Council with legal matters. That wasn't work for a warrior, but leaving the task to Corvinus seemed... risky. Nonetheless, when Aodh's gift as a seer revealed that one of the Taghadairean had been abducted by someone wielding a Comhairle sword, his focus needed to shift. Making nice with a noble no longer seemed so important, not when the woman responsible for protecting the gods and assessing new ghaisgich had been abducted; stolen away from a supernatural establishment trading in angel blood, a place she should've had no reason to be. Worse, the visions of her just keep coming, making his gift even more intrusive than it had been before. But why? There was no love lost between him and the commander, yet he couldn't get her black eyes out of his mind. He needed to find her.
