Emberly Faust first sees Santa Claus when she's just a little girl. HER Santa, however, comes in the unexpected form of a tall, dark, and handsome forty-something. Young Emberly has only one request of Santa that year; for her disenchanted parents to stay together. "Santa" has to explain to Emberly that not even HE can force two people to love each other.
Years later, Emberly is a married woman with two children of her own when one fateful Christmas she discovers her husband to be cheating on her. In her devastated state, she sees the dubiously dapper Santa Claus for the second time, only this time, she's not so easily rid of the charming enigma.

Usually, people Carol's age are getting married, buying their first house, getting their first pet, etc. Her younger sister's doing all that. Good for her right? And she's doing it with Carol's ex. It has been a year since they broke up and he has been with her sister ever since and well, I'm sure you can guess the tea for that one. But it's Christmas time so 'tis the season to be jolly.
