**I saw his shadow sneak under the door and opened it before he could knock. He sounded raspy and looked at me deeply, his eyes dilated against the near darkness of the room. A star on my bedside table in the corner welcomed him as I beckoned him inside. 

It was a quarter past three when I let him in, and it was 3:17 when he started to remove his clothes.**
