An OC x Zuko (ATLA) fanfic.
Laina Xu (A name she uses to conceal her true identity) is a spy working for the Dai Li, tasked with tracking and reporting Fire Nation ships. Undercover, she is moved from her post on the Northern fleet to the crown prince's ship, where she has been asked to help him track down the Avatar.
Laina is met with the shell of the Prince she once knew years ago, before his infamous Agni Kai. She begrudgingly attempts to regain the relationship they once had whilst tracking down the illusive Avatar.
She has an even bigger secret, though: Laina is a dual bender. A rare occurrence where two twins in the womb possess different bending elements. One twin at an early time absorbs the other and gains that element. Laina happened to be that twin. Dual bending being illegal and punishable by death in both the Earth Kingdom and the Fire Nation, Laina must conceal it from everyone.
What happens when she is met with the most challenging decision of her life? Choose to stay with Prince Zuko, continue to work for the Dai Li, or join the Avatar in an attempt to right her wrongs? Whatever decision she makes will be at the expense of someone else.

Avatar: the Last Airbender Fanfiction Zuko x OC Makki is the twin sister of Sokka and the older sister of Katara. She is one of the last Southern water benders, along with her sister. At the age of ten, she lost her mother in a Fire Nation raid, right at the South Pole; all she has left is her mother's necklace, which Katara wears around her neck. After that, her father left to fight in the Hundred Year War, along with all the other grown warriors, and Makki and her siblings were put under the care of their Gran Gran. She grew up practicing her bending and helping Katara with all the chores, while their brother practiced his fighting skills and tried teaching the younger boys of their village. Makki's siblings followed their destiny of helping Aang master all four elements while Makki was stuck on a path with the Fire Nation Prince Zuko and his uncle Iroh. After being betrayed by the prince, Makki joined her siblings on their journey of helping Aang. But soon enough, Zuko figures out that his destiny is to join with Aang's group and to teach him fire bending. In the beginning, Makki couldn't believe Zuko's change, but he promised himself that he would make it up to her and prove to her that he's truly changed and that he loves her. Kaz had always known she had two talents: firebending and getting caught up in her own reckless decisions. Probably that's why she ended up as a fugitive of the Fire Nation and part of a secret society. As long as she got to see the world it couldn't be too bad right? It could, especially if ones gets caught in between an angry old friend, two distrusting siblings and a way too peaceful Avatar. -Kaz observed Katara while she stomped towards the ginormous fluff that was Appa. Then she moved her eyes towards Sokka, he was already sitting on the saddle and was holding his boomerang in what was meant to be a threatening way. She sighed and turned to Aang at her side. "They really hate me huh?" The Avatar looked back at her sheepishly. "Maybe hate is too strong of a word, they just have to get used to you. In any case I'm your friend now so you can lighten up!" Kaz raised one of her brows. "We've known each other for approximately three hours." Aang just gave her a huge smile. "Yeah, but in these three hours you saved my life and healed my friends" Kaz looked at the sky. "Bonding experiences I guess." She mumbled. If possible Aang smiled even wider. "Exactly!".-

Fire is deadly and can leave a path of destruction along the way, fire can scar. But so can Water. Like Fire, water can freeze into ice and can leave many cuts and scars. Both can be deadly when misused. Water and Fire can't be too different. Or are they? Zuko is a fire bender, but not just any fire bender he is the son of the fire lord. Kadia is a water bender, the daughter of the village Chief. When events lead to Kadia being captured by the fire nation Prince she realises that although Fire and Water are often referred to as opposites, they might not be so different after all. Kadia learns to realises that the many lessons she learnt growing up where nothing but prejudice. Or where they? Can she get over her emotional scars and learn to heal? Or was everything she witnessed an elaborate act all along made by the fire prince and his uncle? An act to trick her in letting her guard down and betray her siblings and the Avatar. Will she be able to trust again or does this scar run too deep to heal? Now she is conflicted by the idea of being a mere servant and in love with the Prince, along with the fact that back home in the Northern water tribe her best friend and arranged fiance waits.
