From when we were young, we've been filled with the deafening fearlessness in our heads to do as we please, regardless of the harsh consequences that await us. In a sense, that fearlessness is reincarnated as the undying urge to survive in the life-threataning reality of the zombie apocalypse. In this story, you follow Harlem Scout throughout the years as she matures in the apocalyptic outcome of the unstoppable spread of the mind-controlling virus.

Becoming Them: A Zombie Novel
What would you do if one second you were struggling to survive with your friends and mother in tow, and then you wake up to find yourself with a group of strangers the next - all during the country's takeover of blood-thirsty zeds? Megan couldn't believe her eyes. Her brain was muddled with confusion she couldn't get rid of, no matter how many times those strangers reassured her and explained what happened. But she had to accept it, even though it didn't make any sense to her. Megan had been with her mother every step of the way since everything turned to chaos, beginning just a year before, and now she was nowhere to be seen. And on top of that, she had the zeds to deal with. Ghastly creatures that used to be human, carrying a virus that's spread through a constant hunger for flesh from the host, spreading through bites and scratches. It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. A seven year old girl trying to survive the zombie apocalypse in a fairly small city in rural New Mexico. This is the third in my short story series taken from the universe created for my first book. Ardamin: Clone #7. These short stories are more horror focused than the main book. But how can you tell the story of a zombie apocalypse without some horror? This story is unedited and first draft as keeping with my first two short stories posted to Instagram and therefore will not be polished or fixed with multiple drafts leading to an end product.
