Dabi is a villain and hates the heros, he even hates his own brother. He wants to destroy the heros and help take over the world. He loves doing what he does.
Hawks is a hero and wants to get rid of the villains. He tries to help the heros as much as he can to destroy the villains.
Dabi and Hawks meet each other and start hating each other because one's a villain and the other is a hero. Dabi tries to destroy hawks but it never works.
Hawks gets to really know Dabi because of Shoto. He talks to Dabi about it before Dabi uses his quirk on Hawks and Dabi looks at him.
Dabi starts to catch feelings for Hawks and Hawks starts to catch feelings for Dabi.

Dabi has become abusive, manipulative and possessive over him over time leaving Hawks wondering what went wrong with them Hawks' friend Rumi has noticed this and so did the other pro's and soon deciding that they would go check on him after awhile of seeing him covered in bruises.
