Esmerelda Hope needed answers.

So did the Iudex of Fontaine.

Once a normal girl who lived in Mondstat, she sought answered to her past.

Who was she, exactly?

She could not remember. Her earliest memories started when she was a teenager, soon to be a woman, and surviving off her job as an anonymous artist, and doing commissions for the adventures guild.

But it had been years.

So, so many years.

But she never fit in. She never fully understood people's emotions, and chose to have no friends.

Because she had to keep her secret.

However, her passion for travel, to see the world in all its beauty by herself, compelled her to give her dreams a shot and leave her country.

She wanted to find a place of different culture and arts, and search for answers on who she really was.

She wanted to see if there was a place which would accept her differences.

So she decided to go to Fontaine.

Neuvillette was not a cruel or heartless man.

In fact, he was the opposite. He was selfless, kind, and tried his best to understand humans.

He too, never understood his past as well. He had achieved full dragonhood, but didn't feel closer to the answers he so deeply desired.

But he always reminded himself his answers would come with time.

But who knows, that time may be sooner than he thought.

The storm in Fontaine's phrophey may have passed, but something more sinister brews in the depths...
