Sergeants Hank Voight and Trudy Platt act like the Intelligence Unit parents. Well what if they are their parents. Trudy is married to Mouch so he is their Step-Dad. Detective Alvin Olinsky is like their uncle. The  Intelligence Unit acts like siblings. They do this all the time. What happens when the parents of the Intelligence Unit don't care about their children or hurt them. That is when Sergeants Hank Voight and Trudy Platt step up and take the children in. Along the ride is Randall "Mouch" McHolland the Step-Dad, Alvin "Al" Olinsky the Uncle and Maya Jackson the Aunt to everyone but Will, Jay and Halide Halstead. She is their step-mom and mom. The family looks out for each other and are always there for each other.
