Harlow rose was a child who lost everything at the hands of the monsters around her long before the world fell. She was a girl cast aside and locked away for pleading guilty to a crime she felt no shame about committing. "Never be ashamed" her sister had once told her and the words rang true even when the one who first spoke them was gone, lost to a world that never wanted her.

When the dead started walking people called them monsters but Harlow knew better and in time, the survivors would as well. the dead were nothing but a a shell of the creature that came before, But the people, they were alive and the true monsters lurked among them. the vile beings who were previously forced to dwell in the shadows and deal in the dark had inherited the world transforming it into a playground of violence and deceit.

Harlow believed her life was condemned to end before it had truly began and she had accepted her grim fate of rotting away behind bars and walls until she reunited with her sister. It would be a long time before she realised just how wrong she was.

Carl grimes didn't know what to think when his family stumbled across a lone inmate in the prison his family was to seek refuge in. He knew the stranger was a criminal and he knew that criminals where dangerous but he struggled to correlate the unassuming girl dressed in a ill-fitting jumpsuit with the image of prisoners he had painted in his head.

This is a story about found family, the evil that wears the face of innocence, mental illness and recovery. It is a story about being pushed to the brink of insanity and the journey one must take to come back from it. it is a story of getting hurt and healing, it's a tale of love, acceptance, freedom and humanity. It's the story of a dancing flame, a blazing sun and the birds that came before them.

The Walking Dead - The Nurse by KaileyRose039

TWD, seasons 1-8 currently published. Dark Romance - Slow Burn. Starts off with her falling for Rick possibly ends with her and Daryl. I like me some drama so hehe. - ❝I remembered how it all started. How the world went from civilized with jobs, normal people, conversations. Without the fear of being consumed alive by undead man. Torn apart, left to turn into one of them. I remember the time before I met Rick, Daryl, Glenn, Maggie, all of them. The time before I feared for my sanity. I remember that day at the hospital when a man was rolled in unconscious and injured, my fifth GSW case that month alone. I remember all those cases before him for the past month, the fevers of 110, the quick unstoppable deaths. The bites. I remember the first time I smelled burning flesh and gunpowder. How it coiled around my lungs and burned my nose as I inhaled. The mangled body of my intern littered with bullet holes. I remember the time before the war, I remember when I could go home and sleep without fear of being bitten the next day. I remember the day I had a son, blood or not, and I remember the day he was murdered in front of my eyes. I remember it all. I remember too much. Why were we the ones who live? Why not Glenn? Why not Carl? Henry, or Enid? Any of the other many people we lost for the sake of what, humanity? I had a son once, I had a family. And where are they? ❞ - follow Avery Warren's journey from ER Nurse to survivalist as she navigates a world overrun by the undead. She must deal with dangerous situations, deadly threats, and her own group's disagreements as she strives to protect her people and seek safety in a seemingly hopeless world. She faces the constant threat of both walkers and other humans, struggling to find a safe haven from the zombies while also trying to maintain her humanity. - I only own my characters; the rest belong to AMC and Robert Kirkman.

You met Maggie Greene at NYU: you were studying fine arts, she was studying agricultural sciences. She was finishing up undergrad while you were finishing your masters. Maggie being from the South and you being from the North, your world views were vastly different; that's probably why you clicked so well. You both graduated in May, the world fell in August. You had no one, and so you drove as far and fast as you could, knowing if there was anyone you could turn to, it was Maggie. While on the Greene Family Farm, you meet ex-sheriffs deputy Rick Grimes, aiding in saving his son's life. He couldn't thank you enough. There's a pang in your chest, as you learn a lesson on patience- the fact that good things take time. ~I DO NOT CLAIM TO OWN TWD OR ANY OF ITS CHARACTERS~
