An alternate scenario of World War II. Typically, these stories involve adding elements, such as equipping Japan with modern technology or granting them knowledge from the future. But that approach feels too conventional, so I tried subtracting instead. I decided to remove the enormous factor that is the United States of America. The result was an entirely different history. The premise this time is World War II with the positions of Douglas MacArthur and Dwight Eisenhower swapped. There are no other changes. A flashy, gung-ho, European front and a sober, solid, lean Pacific front will develop. So this time, the main perspective is on the American side. Japan and Germany are getting their asses kicked.
