On the first day of October 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth. This was unusual in the fact that none of these woman had been pregnant when the day first began.

The eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopted as many of the children as possible. He ended up getting eight of them and called them The Umbrella Academy.

Elizabeth Hargreeves is a member of the Umbrella Academy, her and Five are inseparable. When Five decide to travel through time, he takes Ellie with him but it ends with them getting stuck in the future.

Now after years of the two of them being gone, Five return to 2019 without Ellie but with two kids instead.
