Lucent
book 1 of the windows of the soul duology ✿ ✿ ✿ lucent: softly bright or radiant ✿ ✿ ✿ My brother's hand traces the cut on my right cheek for some minutes. I have no idea how a cut can be so interesting, but I won't judge a book by its cover. He unexpectedly moves and places a heartwarming kiss on my crown, brushing through the strands of my hair. But what startles me the most, is when he speaks, "Duerme bien, mi niña bonita." And just as I wasn't able to sleep hours ago because of my stupid fear, I let myself fall into a dreamless sleep as his soothing voice travels through my ears. ✿ ✿ ✿ Layla Rivera. A young naive fourteen-year-old who's just lost her childhood best friend and guardian. She's anxious and timid when meeting other people, so she usually cowers and distracts herself, immerse between the pages of books. When she is thrown into the lion's den - or also named as her older brothers' house - she's left fearful and intimidated by the six foot three males who she never had a clue about. Trying to make sense of what her new life will bring while being unaware of the dangers her new home beholds, she tries to make her way into her new family, but it doesn't seem as easy as she expected, or is it? ©️juststarsandbooks All written works on this account belong to Juststarsandbooks. Poetry As Ruined As I
A collection of Poems about a cluster-fuck of things; from wanting to die to jumping in front of trains, to sex on the phone and love beneath the bedsheets. Being so full of emotion to void of it all, the darkest of thoughts and most suicidal of moments. All boundaries crossed - Death, Rape, Mental Health. The Sun and the moon, and the wrath of an endless sky of stars. Where violence and abuse walk hand in hand, and the rain makes you wonder "what do our rooms look like when we die?" [warning://contains.death.and.life.&.everything.in-between.&:@/) You're going to have to read it to find out.Complete

The Last Time I Saw City Lights
Fear brings out the worst in us, it did to me. The youngest of three brothers is taken hostage by the new-and-unimproved government where he's reunited with his siblings, but only to awaken a different breed of problems born from this new ruling power. IMPORTANT NOTE: this was my 9th grade LA assignment from highschool lmao. I AM NOT A CONSERVATIVE, nor a republican. I'm a far leaning leftist, very much so. The point of the story was to bring up childhood trauma and be all edgy; and the political aspect was just me documenting how conservative people feel. With the whole "gay agenda" and everything. I saw white ppl acting crazy and saying stuff like that a lot as a kid, so I just wrote a lil thang. I realize that this aged horribly. Horribly. Um. It's not a political statement at all, or at least, it wasn't intended to be. Fck ice, fuck the orange guy, fck the island, and fck the underground cities. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.Complete
