Kai survived the downfall, using her abilities to keep her alive. She gets captured by the government and put into a cell, until a small group of people save her from their custody. 
But memories from the pack still haunt her. 
As the world around her crumbles, she finds strength in the ones close to her. 
Tristan leads the small group of specials who save her. He takes Kai under his wing, teaching her everything he knows. 
When Kai learns to fully control her powers, she is amazed at what she is capable of. 
The undertaking is underway once Kai is ready to act. Soon the government will be overtaken by the ones who are feared, the ones like Kai.
