She grew up practicing her bending and helping Katara with all the chores, while their brother practiced his fighting skills and tried teaching the younger boys of their village. Makki's siblings followed their destiny of helping Aang master all four elements while Makki was stuck on a path with the Fire Nation Prince Zuko and his uncle Iroh. After being betrayed by the prince, Makki joined her siblings on their journey of helping Aang. But soon enough, Zuko figures out that his destiny is to join with Aang's group and to teach him fire bending. In the beginning, Makki couldn't believe Zuko's change, but he promised himself that he would make it up to her and prove to her that he's truly changed and that he loves her. Physically, she loves that her sister is a bender, but mentally she envies her sister and is sad she isn't one. Aya believes she has bending abilities but just hasn't discovered them yet. She has hope that maybe going on an adventure to save the world with her siblings and the avatar could strike her potential bending skills. Book 2 and Book 3 are out now!
