The Bridge of Magic

Magic is dying and it's wielders along with them. The Church of the Valiant Sun seeks to control its use entirely and that means all mages must be conscripted or die. There is no stopping them. There is no resistance. The Goddess of demands there be order and her Will must be obeyed.

There are many types of mages and yet Theslad is of a rare and prized breed. An Abyss Mage, with the power to traverse between realms. He is no hero. He is no savior. He's just a man living one day at a time in world that's growing more and more fearful of magic and it's mages. But when his brother, Karson, a Harbinger of the Church comes knocking at his door seeking help, Theslad is forced to make a choice between burying his hatchet with the last bit of family he has left or letting them die and fleeing for his life.
