Meacha's reality is virtual. The hub she and more than a million other gamers live in is called Actuality, and they all compete for the same thing: the #1 spot in the official rankings. The hub includes thousands of games that can up your rankings if you beat it, and earn you perks. However if you die and respawn, your rankings can drop from first to #5768. Meacha is a character that logs into a game, not knowing that she would not be able to log out. The only  ways out is to respawn and risk your ranking number, or fight through the game and win. But she soon realizes that this wouldn't be a game that could be easily won, or even if it could be won, for it was more advanced than she expected. You age, you feel pain, you feel connections, and there are thousands of other players stuck here with you in this wide-spread new world, all trying to figure out how to defeat the game, whatever the purpose of it was.
