They have dragons to guide them, but will they forget the God they once knew, in favor of these larger than life creatures?

What happens when two heavily interconnected societies suddenly go to war out of nowhere? What happens when that war lasts for over 6 years? What happens when one side of the war is completely cut off from their home world? Kalimaria is a planet that was discovered a long time ago. Through ancient portal technology the planet was discovered by humans and earth. The inhabitants of this planet were a race of anthropomorphic alien creatures that resembled what most people in the modern age call "anthros" or "furries." Humanity, despite everything, managed to coexist and even integrate this highly intelligent alien species into our society and also help bolster the Kalimarian world's own technological advancements. For over 80 years the two species coexisted with only minor skirmishes between humans and Kalimarians occurring. That is until the war happened. A war that many question the true motives behind. Was it to protect the sovereignty of the Kalimarian species and its people? Was it to gain power and influence over people of the planet? This no one could truly answer. The war however started and all of humanity on that planet was stuck there as the portals that once allowed free travel between the two worlds was shut down. Scott Caine, a once proud member of the U.S. Army was now stuck here with the forces that had been cutoff from earth and the United States. A young man who had been forced to do things he shouldn't have had to do. A man given little choice in what life brought him.

Relicts & Revenants: Monsters of the Week II

13 parts Complete

Give a min-maxed adventuring party a dragon in the dungeon, or some orcs, or even a green slime, and they'll be pretty sure how to respond; but there are other monsters in the manual, and if you pull them out of the dungeon and into the present day, who knows how more normal people would react -- or if they'd even be able to recognize them for what they are. A return to the themes of a once-a-week project (https://www.wattpad.com/story/169529894-monsters-of-the-week) originally published in 2015, Relicts & Revenants takes more randomly-selected entries from the AD&D Second Edition Monstrous Manual and re-stages them in new environments -- a demilich in remote subarctic Quebec, an imp in the burned-over firewakes of California, a mist dragon fleeing climate change in the south of China -- for thirteen new stories of fantasy, horror, and the generally weird, publishing Mondays from January through March 2021. This series is now and complete, and collected in https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0917QCJ69 including an additional new novella, "The Caged and the Free". cover image from "A Caribou Rack Lying at The Foot of the Hill Which Is The Site for Pump Station #4.
