Casey Winters was just your average 16 year old girl. She went to school, had friends, and dreaded the thought of being seen with her parents. But when her father is killed in a robbery, life will never be the same. Casey's mother looses herself, and Casey herself gets lost among the crowd, with their fake frowns and tears. It drags her deeper and deeper into a raging depression until she can't tell which way is up. She needs something new, because the fake and superficial people she called friends were never there to catch her when she fell... Casey Winters needed a hero, because she couldn't save his life. Casey Winters needed a hero, because she might not save hers.

"I'm so sorry, Casey," he said, pleading for my forgiveness. I'd been avoiding his intense gaze for the entirety of the conversation, but I looked into his eyes as I said: "I just want to know; why me?" ---------- Casey Hall is a simple girl, leading a complicated life and it only gets worse when she encounters Jeremy Storm and his elite group of friends. Each attractive, athletic, and... well, attractive, it's impossible for Casey to keep their lives separate. Once Casey learns that the driving factor for their friendship was a childish bet she finds herself incredibly hurt, but is it enough to pull her away from the one she loves? **probably not the ending you're expecting- If you want some sappy optimism you should find another book**
