If you thought everything was fine and dandy after The Devil was defeated, you were dead wrong! Peace never lasts forever. Tails and the other Freedom Fighters seem to forget that way too often. It's been about one year since Sonic killed The Devil to end its genocidal rampage. Everyone began living their own respective lives, but it was not so respectful. Despite no longer afraid to be themselves it does not change how the world truly feels about them. The Freedom Fighters are nothing but hideous freaks. They know this. They are still held back by their past traumas that keep them from being able to move on and become better. Not only that, new threats and dramas keep popping out of nowhere and just make life even harder. Sure, there are no demons in the story this time, but everyone still has their inner demons. No one is free from despair. Try as they might to change things, it will prove overbearingly difficult and could tear them a part for good.
This is a Sonadow AU where Shadow is an alien from a different universe. He finds Mobius and tries to become the most powerful... but without anyone noticing him. He is trying to become one of them. Over time, he figures out that Sonic is the quote on quote "ultimate lifeform" on Mobius. He tries to become acquaintances with Sonic so he can learn their culture... as things take a turn.
(These characters are seen as young adults. The only child depicted in this story is Tails. So, for whoever may be thinking, I am sexualizing minors. You're wrong. I also will say that this book is heavily emotional and has very graphic scenes. So I advise whoever reads this as well to be very open-minded and aware of the triggers I've listened down.)
