The Escape

Abigail "Abby" Lee Emerson's life hasn't unfolded as she had hoped. Her childhood was filled with joy in a home where her parents were deeply in love. However, everything changed dramatically when her father, Lee, discovered that Bella, Abby's younger sister, was not his biological child. The situation worsened when he caught his wife cheating with another man.

Nina, the mother of the two girls, now finds herself divorced and on drugs, jumping from man to man, and still living under the same roof as her ex-husband and children, although she's never around. She was sleeping around with other men without her husband knowing for years.

Lee, Abigail's father, has become indifferent to his ex-wife Nina's actions. To him, she now holds no significance, which leads to his nightly bouts of excessive drinking. In his eyes, Nina has destroyed his life, and he has become apathetic towards everyone, including his daughter. His anger is often directed at Bella and Abby, especially when she tries to shield her younger sister.

Abigail, known as Abby, works daily to provide for her family. Her family is Bella. Abby wants nothing to do with her mother when she's around or her father because of his actions.

Abby works days and nights to make enough money for bills and food. Sometimes, it's not enough, but it doesn't matter to her as long as Bella is fed.

On the day her world crumbles, Abby encounters Jace, a daunting figure who instills fear in her yet inexplicably captures her heart as he saves her from the turmoil of her home.
