"I am all yours." *** Seventeen-year-old Adrian White is a foster girl who lives in an abusive household along with her abusive foster dad and mom. The worst is the foster dad. He goes into Adrains room at night when everyone is asleep and does things to her and she can't stop him. She gets beaten every day before and after school. The only people that know are her two best friends, Vivien Loren and Quinni Rose. They know she can't run away until she is 18 and if she tries they will hurt her even more. Adrian tends to keep to herself and deal with what is happening with her life now. Eighteen-year-old Kace Lexington is the gang leader of the Swace gang. Her name was Gabriella Quintanilla. She was a senior in high school during this time. She had the looks, all the boys, the popularity, the clothes, and even the grades. And in no way was she ignorant of any of these things--quite the opposite. She knew that she was above average in most categories of life, and had no problem reminding people repeatedly of that fact. I'm not going to lie---I didn't like her. Not at all. To be completely honest, I threatened to kill her with my bare hands. And the scary thing is, I meant it. I wanted her to die. Edward Anderson finds himself in yet another night with the same issue; he hasn't been able to sleep in weeks. Edward was a troublemaker yuppie with no purpose in his life. After an accident almost got him killed, back in his "previous life" as he calls it. Edward decides to move all by himself to Tallahassee in order to start over, leaving his sisters and mother with the doubt of whether or not he will be out of trouble. Times passes and he develops a severe case of insomnia. He finds himself wondering around in a rented place reading books, listening to music or whatever helps him to sleep, but he can't. Until one day he decides to drive around the city every single night until the break of dawn visiting the same places, the same beach, the same gas station over and over again without any success. Edward's fate changes forever when he finds an old house in a quiet neighborhood where he suspects something very strange and disturbing is going on in there. "Nighthawk" is a story of solitude, a story of how difficult it is to leave the past and change for the better.
