An Eternal Lament

After nearly five hundred years of purgatory Katerina, a human turned immortal with a power made of nightmares, found herself on a harrowing path for revenge against the goddess that put her there. However, to get it she needed to find the lost pieces of her soul the goddess had broken apart and scattered to regain her magic. They had been spread out across the eight great kingdoms of Tatirian long ago and after locating them, she set sail for the capital of Vecuria and planned to infiltrate the its court ruled by a tirant King. Her task quickly became more complicated when every lead she found requires her to jump head first down many rabbit holes of mysteries that uncovers the past in way she could never have expected. To help sort through the tangled webs of history and find where exactly the goddess hid the second piece, Katerina found herself making unlikely allies in the strangest of places, many of them being on opposite sides of an impending civil war within the kingdom. She has to do all of this under a new identity, all while remembering the first law in Vecuria, magic is punishable by death. And magic was the very thing she needed most.
