Hazel is a 15 year old borrower who has lived in the McGreevy household for about 6 months. Mrs. McGreevy is a 69 year old woman who lives in a big house with no one else but her pet fish (look out for that key detail later). One day, while borrowing Hazel is visiting mr.bubbles (the fish), ever since she had moved to this house she has been fascinated that a fish can live outside of the creek. She is sitting on the rim of the bowl looking down, when she hears a voices. 'Voices?' But Mrs.McGreevy lives alone. Getting distracted by the voices, Hazel looses her balance and falls into the fishbowl. Unable to swim, Hazel flails, helplessly sinking deeper. Lawrence is a 16 year old boy with a kind heart and an identical twin. On the first day of summer break he discovers a little girl drowning in his grandmothers fish tank. He saves her but before he can talk to her, Lucas, his twin brother, interrupts him. By the time he gets Lucas to leave, the girl is gone. He decides to write her a letter and places it behind the fishbowl. Hope you enjoy reading 'Fishbowls and Letters'
