Ahurewa left her village with nothing more than the clothes on her back. Her people, known for their courage and their outstanding ability to fly ikran, were all slaughtered by the sky people, forcing her to leave the only home she ever knew in search of a new home.

Neteyam had found her just outside of the Hallelujah mountains, passed out from exhaustion. It took everything in him not to bite off his fathers hands when he carried her to the village. Her strange ways captivated him, and even though he had the responsibility of his siblings, Neyetam took it upon himself to protect her and teach her the ways of the Omatikaya.

No matter how much she resisted, Ahurewa always found her way back to him.
