Eiji, a shut-in, is forced out in the 2000s Tokyo after his mother falls ill and by chance meets the light and playful Aoi, a journalist who helps him get employed. Working together, they simultaneously develop a close connection.
However, just as the news agency unexpectedly shuts down, Aoi mysteriously disappears. Accompanied by the intelligent detective Shinichi, Eiji must discover what happened to the love of his life - but his reccuring hallucinations make it difficult.
