23-year-old Edith Walker was living the high life, being the only child of a Gamma she was slated to take over his position one day. Despite apprehension from the pack about her ability to lead, she was excited. It was what she had been dreaming about her whole life and nothing could get in her way of finally having some say in the pack. That is until her mother negotiated for her to be mated to Paul, the son of the Beta from the Green Ridge pack. In just mere hours her whole plan for the future is derailed and she became the mate to a man she didn't know and the Luna to a pack who didn't want her mate to lead them.
Adapting to the role of the pack's emotional center when she was raised to become a hardened Gamma is difficult in itself. It gets even harder when she has no one to lean on. Her mate wants to treat things like a business arrangement, the pack thinks she needs to shut up and know her role, and her own mother handed her off to another pack in her sick manipulation game for power. Edith wasn't going to go down without a fight though. She was raised by a ruthless woman who forced her hand by arranging her match to Paul and she was going to play that same game, but she was going to do it better.
