This is a Hogwarts Legacy OC backstory, written by MoriMoriMortje.
The Squib daughter of the late fisherman Ambrose Wylld and the sickly Josephine Prewett Wylld, Molly Josephine Wylld believes her destiny will be fish mongering, until when of age, her uncle, Father Thomas Wylld is able to arrange a Muggle marriage for her. Forced to support her mother and hysterical maternal grandmother, Molly fears she will have to resort to factory work... or worse, when Uncle Tom is dismissed from his post. She hopes her late father's companions will find an exception for her, which would allow for her, as a young woman, to follow in her father's footsteps on the high seas. Prospects are grim, until Molly finds a strange relic in her father's chest, which she hopes to sell: that is, until it takes a liking to her...
It was assumed that the Ministry of Magic's coldness toward the Wylld family upon Ambrose's death was due to Thomas's controversial practice of faith healing.
However, a Muggle fisherman divulges to Molly the disgrace of what truly happened...
