Noah stepped closer-too close-and suddenly the space between us disappeared. I could feel his breath, warm and steady, brushing against my lips. My pulse stuttered. "You know what's dangerous about being alone for too long?" he murmured. His gaze dropped to my mouth, lingered there, then lifted back to my eyes. It felt intentional. Like he knew exactly what it was doing to me. "You forget how good it feels to be wanted," he said quietly. "You forget that you don't have to carry everything by yourself." My throat tightened. I didn't trust myself to speak. He tilted his head, giving me time-giving me the choice-before leaning in. His lips met mine slowly, deliberately, as if he was testing the weight of the moment. The kiss was unhurried, intoxicating, the kind that made my knees weaken before I even realized it had happened. Heat curled low in my stomach. I kissed him back without thinking, without fear-just want. Just need. His hand brushed my waist, not claiming, just grounding, and it sent a shiver straight through me. For the first time in a long time, the past faded into the background. And all I could feel was him.

"This can't be true." Maybe I am going insane now, maybe I'm thinking about him so hard that apart from dreams I now see him in strangers. I blinked hoping when I'll open my eyes I'll find another face there. "It's really him" I gulped. My throat went dry and suddenly everyone around him seemed blurred and the only thing I could focus on was his steps growing towards me. High school love is supposed to be forgotten, but Hazel Cooper had different plans, and so did her destiny. Hazel Parker lived a cliché love story in high school, and even though five years had passed, she found herself still in love with Edward. She was prepared to accept that a part of her would always love him, and no matter how much she longed for him, she knew she would never have him again. What she wasn't prepared for was Edward coming back into her life. A series of shocks, hesitation, lies, revelations, and passion unfolds as destiny crosses their paths once more, reigniting the long-lost flame of love between these two former lovers.
