What if the perfect duo of Holmes and Watson had met differently? What if John had been hired by Mycroft to look after his little brother? What if... All that I'm requesting is for you to befriend my brother and become his flat-mate. You will still have your regular life. John couldn't ignore the way his heart's jumped at the last part. He struggled to keep his face straight and look at this rationally. "And what if your brother doesn't like me? We might not be friends." Mycroft sighed. "Then I will remove you from this job and ask someone else to try," he replied smoothly. John was going to reject the offer when Mycroft interrupted. "Mr. Watson, I am aware that you want something more then your dull civilian life. This is the offer that you've been waiting for." Still uncertain, John wavered. He decided to at least take a look at the file Mycroft handed him seconds ago. Nothing caught his eye as he flitted mindlessly through the pages. Then his eyes landed on the photo and John's breath caught in his throat. His sharp cheekbones and impossible eyes were undeniably the ones of the breath-taking man he had bumped into on the street earlier.

John looked peaceful, his head lulling back and hands clasped together in his lap. His mouth was slightly open, and his breathing even. How had he fallen asleep so perfectly? Most people who had fallen asleep around Sherlock (which was, admittedly, not many) had slept awfully, loud and snorty, sometimes thrashing around, sometimes making weird sounds you're only capable of making while asleep. He sat next to the doctor, being careful not to disturb his slumber. Closing his eyes, Sherlock tried to get to his mind palace. To his dismay, too many thoughts cluttered his head. That had never happened before. Sherlock groaned softly, keeping his eyes closed. Maybe he should get some sleep. He knew John would want him to. "Ah John, what would I do without you?" Sherlock whispered to the sleeping man beside him on the couch. "I'd be a half dead robot if you weren't here. I almost was. I almost was." A small sigh escaped his lips as he slipped into the cool relief of sleep.

Safe and Sound - Hunger Games AU by sherlock-no-das-gay

“In celebration of the 125th Annual Hunger Games, an alteration shall be made for this year's quarter quell.” it read, complete with subtitles for those hard of hearing. “Two tributes from each gender group will be reaped. In the event of a name being reaped twice, another tribute shall be reaped. Four tributes will be sent forward from each district. May the odds be ever in your favour.” I froze and made eye contact with John Watson, the closest thing to me. The probability of him being reaped was small, but still there. It was agonizing, watching the worry in his eyes. My heart rate sped up and sent chills down my spine. The name card was unfolded and the tape was pulled back. “John Hamish Watson.” A sudden wave of panic hit me and I pushed forward in the crowd, too distraught to notice the second card being drawn. “I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute!” I yelled, battling against a peacekeeper to stop John from leaving the crowd. “Sherlock Holmes.”

[Sherlock x Female OC] The thing is, there is an empty, gaping hole at the base of John's throat where his overwhelming guilt and periodic bouts of torturous grief used to be. It would be so easy to... to be angry and punch a hole through the wall, through the foam of his pillow -- drive his fist through Sherlock's heart. But he remembers; in the most tragic and inopportune of fashion, remembers how angry he had been when Sherlock had jumped, how furious he had been at his funeral, and how it hadn't stopped him from breaking down at his grave nonetheless. The thing about his anger is this: it does nothing but leave him behind in the end, a bundle of nerves and frailty in his bones and an unsteady sway to his gait. It does nothing at all, but reduce marginally the constant, suffocating oppressiveness of his days bleeding into one another with a burst of adrenaline. The thing about his anger is this: it doesn't give him back Sherlock. So he gets a new flatmate- a woman named Holland. They were great friends at school and in fear he would be lonely again after Sherlock died he started to meet up with her, and soon, she moved in with him. They're just friends, though. No one could have a bond with John like Sherlock did. Sherlock was his best friend. But then Sherlock returns, and John is more furious than ever at him. Also, Sherlock and Holland seem to bond quite well, which is something Sherlock finds too complicated to explain itself.

" I've watched you since you were born but it's obvious that you haven't fully grasped that you cannot see me unless I want you to see me. For someone that has a college degree I would expect more from you. " John scoffed at the deep baritone voice insulting him. " For someone that has supposedly watched me my whole life, I would have assumed that you would have some type of sympathy for me. Besides, I've seen you before. You just choose to hide. " " I'm only like this because I know that you can handle it. You've dealt with me for this long and I'm hiding from you to save you. " He was right. John have dealt with him for a long time. But he was tired of not knowing who he truly was. The voice knew everything about John while John knew nothing about him. " Can you at least tell me your real name, S? " The nickname sent shivers down John's spine since he hadn't called the voice that in years. " Wow, you do remember. But the name is Sherlock Holmes. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to being unknown. " John felt a gust of wind hit him which signaled that Sherlock had once again vanished to who knows where. John's guardian angel sure was a charmer. Always knew how to get them. John could say this though. Sherlock Holmes was one angel that intrigued him in ways he didn't know were possible. But he liked it. - In which a guy named John has a guardian angel named Sherlock follow him around for practically his whole life who will help him reach his life goal that everyone needs to complete.
