Reed is a girl who's sick grandma is dying. After moving from Pennsylvania to Florida, her adjustment goes awry as she meets some kids. She falls in love, gets herself into some drama, and gets herself into a bad situation with a popular boy. She ends up finding a cave full of stones, and one of the stones ends up turning her into none other than a mermaid. As she learns to control her powers, she learns that her friends have more secrets than she knows, and she learns she's from an ancient bloodline of sacrificial humans, destined to become half Merfolk hybrids to save the dying Merfolk Race from the infertility curse that was cast on them centuries ago when Humans and Merfolk lived in peace. But what happens with things go wrong? What happens when the Wizards that originally put the curse on the Merfolk suddenly appear?
