In the Roglianae Empire, magic is rare. And so are its wielders.
When Vanora Galanodel, the daughter of a count, is arranged to be married to the Duke of the empire, Calix Agarvran, known for his cold and cruel nature, she plans on living quietly and unnoticed in his castle. As not to draw any unwanted attention.
But as mysterious corpses are found all around the empire, things get a little complicated for Vanora, as she struggles to keep her secrets and her past buried.
All the while learning that not all is what it seems in the Duke's castle, and that he too isn't who the rumors say he is.
