Nicole Channing is sick of expectations. Her father wants her to take over her family's company, Soccer Family. However, Nicole doesn't want to take over the company. Nicole's father is willing to compromise. If Nicole manages to invest in a team successfully, he'll let her be. If she fails she has to take over. Nicole agrees but she's the one who picks the team. She ends up picking a weak team. Nicole tries to be friendly to everyone however, a certain player with the number ten and the name Werner plastered on his jersey is proving difficult. Liam Werner doesn't have time for a relationship. Taking care of his sister and sick mother plus being a full time soccer player has his plate full. Liam has plenty of demons who haunt him and yet he's convinced that it's for the better. He's more than happy to keep playing in Forge the way things are. So when Nicole Channing expresses interest in the team, Liam is thrown off his game. After they meet, Liam (used to cunning and selfish people) refuses to cooperate with Nicole.
